General DescriptionYour own private 2.5 acre island on beautiful Georgian Bay - a short boat ride from the mainland. (Renters must have/rent their own boat). This two bedroom (plus loft) cottage (built in 2002) has pine walls and pine vaulted ceilings, huge windows overlooking the bay. Open concept living/dining/kitchen with views from every window - and from the 800 sq ft wrap around deck which is gated. There is a small sandy beach and gazebo on one side of the island and deep water swimming from the dock as well. This cottage is environmently friendly as well - using solar power/battery (back up generator available). The island Is accessed from Woods Bay Marina. A short drive to Mactier and 45 km to Parry Sound. Island is very near Moon Island and Massassauga Provincial Park. Georgian Bay has been proclaimed a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.

Bedrooms & BathroomsTwo bedrooms on the main level. The master is a queen bed. The second bedroom is quite large and has a queen/single bunk combination with a single trundle bed beneath as well. On this level is the three piece bathroom (shower, toilet, sink). In the loft area there is a day bed which can be used as two singles or a king.

AmenitiesThe kitchen has a refridgerator (electric) and a separate freezer (propane), stove/oven (propane). Washer (and clothes line). Ipod /CD dock. Playpen. Airtight stove fireplace, deck, dock. Patio furniture, gas bbq. Sun gazebo. Canoe/paddles, and sailboat. Note - no land line but cell service is very good.

Waterfront & SwimmingThe island is 2.5 acres and has a sheltered channel for the dock (short path from dock to cottage), plus a small sandy beach on the other side of the island facing the bay (accessed by a short path through the trees). There is a sun gazebo at the beach. Note - renters must have/rent their own boat/motor for transport to /from island - but there is a taxi service available from the marina as well. Parking for one vehicle at the marina included, $10/day for extra vehicles. Additional charge for docking boat at marina for full day.
