'Royal Muskoka' - Wonderful family cottage built in the '50s is set on the west shore of beautiful Lake Rosseau, on Royal Muskoka Island on the site of the historic Royal Muskoka Hotel. Enjoy beautiful open views from the gazebo by the shore and watch the Segwun sailing past. Royal Muskoka Island is road accessible with open interior lands owned by the cottage association with walking/biking trails, baseball diamond, new childrens playground and basket ball court (photos under photo tab) about a 2 minute walk from the cottage. This traditional three bedroom cottage has lots of charm and character and is in immaculate condition. The three bedrooms and bathroom are up four steps from the main living/kitchen and dining areas which overlook the lake. A lovely covered stone patio sits beside the cottage and there is a gazebo at the shore overlooking the dock area. The cottage is accessed by 30 steps from the parking area. It's a 20 minute drive to Port Carling and 30 minutes to the Town of Rosseau. Note: Cottage is available for long term/seasonal rental - telephone hook up available at renter cost for long term booking. Ample parking available for two cars and a boat trailer.

There are three bedrooms in this back split cottage (living areas are four steps down from the entry and bedroom/bathroom level). One bedroom has a queen, one a double and the third has a set of single beds. There is a four piece bathroom (tub/shower, toilet & sink).
Kitchen has fridge/freezer, stove/oven, microwave. No phone, (owners are next door for emergencies). Television with DVD, CD player. Stone patio, gas bbq, patio furniture, picnic table, lounge chairs on dock.
Waterfront & Swimming
Approx. 102' of natural rugged shoreline accessed from the cottage by 35 terraced steps that are the original stone steps from the Royal Muskoka Hotel. Lovely gazebo set just above the dock on the shoreline. Dock is approx. 24' long with a centre slip for docking - and has boat whips on one side of dock for additional boat docking. Clean deep water swimming from the dock. (No shallow entry).

"This cottage was absolutely perfect! Lots of stairs, clean, beautiful, best sunsrises ever, quiet, perfect for what we needed. We were looking for an old cottage with lots of history. The stairs from the old Hotel that once was there were on our lot. The old gazebo as well.
We hope to go back to stay there again. The owners were wonderful too. It was very helpful that they lived next door to help us out on a few issuses."

Complete the Cottage Request Form
Complete the "Cottage Request Form". If you have any questions, we can be reached by email [mail(at)cottagerental(dot)com] or by telepone at 905.862.0252 or at 1.877.862.0254 (Toll-Free). One of our staff will be happy to answer any questions that you have, verify cottage availability, rate, etc. At this time we will create/update a file for you with the information needed to respond to your booking request.
Return the Booking Application Form
Once we have put the cottage on "Hold", we will email you our Booking Application Form for completion and return to our office by fax or email within 2 days. A payment of 30% of the cost of the cottage plus our $90.00 + HST agency service fee (plus the cost of Trip Cancellation Insurance, if purchased) will be charged to the credit card provided with the Booking Form. A post-dated cheque for the balance payment of 70%, (plus any optional charges such as Accidental Damage Waiver, Cleaning Service, Linens Service) dated 6 weeks prior to occupancy, is forwarded to our office by mail within 5 business days. The Travel Package will be forwarded to you within 15 days of our having processed your booking.
Receive Booking Confirmation and Rental Package
After receipt and processing by our office, a Booking Confirmation and Travel Package are mailed to the Booking Applicant. Please note that, no booking is considered 'confirmed' until a written Booking Confirmation has been produced by our office. In addition to the Booking Confirmation, the Travel Package will include a copy of the Cottage/General page from our website listing the cottage inventory, bedsizes, etc., a map to the cottage and a set of Cottage Instructions/Rules.
Receive Cottage Access Information
Approximately one week prior to the start date of your holiday, we will contact you with instructions on accessing the cottage. Generally, this will be via a Lock Box at the cottage; however, there may be other arrangements necessary depending on the cottage..
