Christmas at the Cottage

It’s the most, wonderful time . . .  of the year.  No – not back to school (stop thinking of the Staples commercial!)  It’s Christmas!  With the kids off school for two weeks, the Christmas holidays are a wonderful time to plan a vacation.  If you enjoyed a holiday in cottage country this past summer why not consider a cottage getaway with family or friends for winter?  It’s a great chance to escape from the stress of shopping, going here and there, gift wrapping and the busy life in the city.  Many families find that winter at the cottage is the perfect opportunity to relax, simplify and enjoy time together.

We have a number of cottages available for 5-night holiday rentals or longer.  My personal favourite winter cottage activity is sitting by the fire with a good book – usually one that I received as a Christmas gift and can’t wait to have a big chunk of time to really get into.  My family does drag me away from the fire for some active time (they say I’m at risk of getting dusty if I read too long!) and if the weather is good we like to play in the snow, go shoe shoeing or cross-country skiing.  When we feel the need to get out and about, a trip to explore a small cottage country town always fits the bill.  Blustery weather feels like a bonus as it usually means an afternoon of board games or a movie marathon in the evening.

Whether you are looking for a quiet getaway for two or a larger family reunion of up to 12 the staff at CottageRental.com  would be happy to help you plan some special Christmas/New Year’s vacation time.
