Haliburton Cottage
About
The Haliburton Highlands has a character all its own. Spending a day or a week in this area boasting many lakes and rivers along with mixed forest, provides travelers the opportunity to sit back in a relaxed environment while still enjoying the many unique attractions and activities the region offers. In the summer, seasonal properties outnumber those occupied year-round by 3 to 1, a testament to the popularity of the area for Greater Toronto Area residents.
Haliburton is also home to a thriving arts community where you don’t have far to travel to find galleries, events and programs. Artist studios, many offering programs and workshops and the renowned Haliburton School of Art and Design and the Haliburton Sculpture Forest attract many visitors annually.
It would be a mistake to miss the many outdoor activities Haliburton has to offer, including the Haliburton Forest’s Canopy Tour and Wolf Centre. Golfing at numerous courses including Pinestone, Blairhampton, Beaverbrook, etc. are excellent challenges for golfers of all abilities. A visit to the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve for the Canopy Tour, the Wolf Centre or their Zip Line is a great day trip.
For wide variety of Haliburton outings, whether it be guided fishing, hiking tours, culinary adventures or artistic endeavours, we highly recommend the folks at Yours Outdoors.
NIn the winter, skiing, snowmobiling, dogsledding, ice fishing and snowshoeing take the main stage – winter in all its glory.
