As summer wanes and slowly becomes fall, there is noticeable difference on the lake. Activity levels have diminished, early mornings have a crispness in the air, warming as the day progresses. The trees on the opposite shore begin to exhibit their colourful retreat to winter. This is a time to truly experience cottage country’s outdoors with a hike in the forest, breathing in the fresh air and watching the local wildlife, just as the forest does, preparing for winter. The late September/early October colours are spectacular, creating indelible memories. Local fall fairs, studio tours, a round of golf on a course surrounded by granite hazards. The list goes on… So much to experience, so little time.
