'Granite Point' - Great family cottage on Lower Buckhorn Lake. This three bedroom cottage has southerly exposure, great views, is set on Cambrian Shield rock, surrounded by tall trees. Large new deck overlooking the waterfront which has some sandy area on shore and easy access into the water for children. Very comfortably furnished and finished with lots of cottage charm. Located on the Trent Waterway - minutes from Buckhorn.

Waterfront & Swimming

Approximately 100' of shoreline. The area directly in front of the cottage has a cement/stone breakwall and step into shallow water (approx 1' deep) with sandy/stone bottom and gradual slope into deeper water (weedy as you progress into deeper water in the bay). There is a small dock to the side of the property with deeper water (approx 3.5' - 4' deep). Docking is suitable for a boat of approximately 16'. The nearest boat launch facility is located at 'Reach Harbour' across the lake. The cottage is equipped with a 14' canoe, two kayaks, and an aluminum boat with oars.

This cottage is very well stocked with the basics of dishes, pots/pans etc. The DVD library is excellent, stereo etc. It has a great waterfront and kayaks, canoe and boat, paddles. The deck is excellent and the gates contained our small dog when we didn't want her at the water level. The view of the water is delightful and the sunsets breathtaking! The owners keep this cottage very clean. Equipment is replaced when needed. The waterfront is maintained regularly, beach is raked and any weeds are removed from the water."

"The deck was GREAT. Easy access to the water. QUIET!!!! Very clean. Great spot for the dog to swim. The bass fishing off the dock was real nice!! One slight draw back was the abundance of weeds in the lake, when canoeing. We really enjoyed our week at the cottage. Probably one of the most peaceful places we have rented. The fact that there were no power boats or jet skis flying by constantly was a breath of fresh air! The sandy beach was also a really nice touch, for the north. Great time with our grown children to hang out and catch up!"

Please read through our "Booking Notes". This FAQ document will explain various issues relating to the rental process and party responsibilities and obligations.

Complete the Cottage Request Form

Complete the "Cottage Request Form". If you have any questions, we can be reached by email [mail(at)cottagerental(dot)com] or by telepone at 905.862.0252 or at 1.877.862.0254 (Toll-Free). One of our staff will be happy to answer any questions that you have, verify cottage availability, rate, etc. At this time we will create/update a file for you with the information needed to respond to your booking request.

Return the Booking Application Form

Once we have put the cottage on "Hold", we will email you our Booking Application Form for completion and return to our office by fax or email within 2 days. A payment of 30% of the cost of the cottage plus our $90.00 + HST agency service fee (plus the cost of Trip Cancellation Insurance, if purchased) will be charged to the credit card provided with the Booking Form. A post-dated cheque for the balance payment of 70%, (plus any optional charges such as Accidental Damage Waiver, Cleaning Service, Linens Service) dated 6 weeks prior to occupancy, is forwarded to our office by mail within 5 business days. The Travel Package will be forwarded to you within 15 days of our having processed your booking.

Receive Booking Confirmation and Rental Package

After receipt and processing by our office, a Booking Confirmation and Travel Package are mailed to the Booking Applicant. Please note that, no booking is considered 'confirmed' until a written Booking Confirmation has been produced by our office. In addition to the Booking Confirmation, the Travel Package will include a copy of the Cottage/General page from our website listing the cottage inventory, bedsizes, etc., a map to the cottage and a set of Cottage Instructions/Rules.

Receive Cottage Access Information

Approximately one week prior to the start date of your holiday, we will contact you with instructions on accessing the cottage. Generally, this will be via a Lock Box at the cottage; however, there may be other arrangements necessary depending on the cottage..
